Workshops

We offer the support teachers and students need to create sustainable change and impact to start waves in combating systemic racism. Instead of focusing on history, we focus on the here and now but also the future by showcasing representation and supporting the mentality of seeing everyone as a unique individuals, like a snowflakes.

 

BLK Snowflake offers teacher training which can focus on a variety of topics surrounding racism, including but not exclusive to : Types of Racism, Vicarious Trauma, White Fragility, White Privilege, CRT, Colourism and Anti-Racism.

 

Similarly BLK Snowflake offers workshops to students from early years through to leaving secondary school on topics surrounding racism with the focus on promoting Anti-Racism and equality. Below are the workshops we recommend currently however we are open to tailoring around topics you feel need to be discussed for example- Racism Online (social media platforms and gaming). 

Inclusive Safeguarding

At BLK Snowflake, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to creating emotionally and physically safe spaces for all children and young people, especially those from marginalised and minoritised backgrounds. We recognise that factors such as race, disability, gender identity, neurodivergence, sexuality, faith, and socio-economic background can affect how safety and harm are experienced. Our safeguarding approach is intersectional, trauma-informed, and inclusive. All staff are: Enhanced DBS checked, Trained in up-to-date UK safeguarding procedures, and Committed to following “Keeping Children Safe in Education” and “Working Together to Safeguard Children” statutory guidance. Freelance associates will always been accompanied by core staff when working with children. We work in close partnership with each school and uphold your safeguarding protocols during all sessions.
